# Incorrect Password Entries

## Incorrect Password Entries

If you enter a password incorrectly, the terminal displays an *Access refused* error message.

Touch the error message to return to the **Password** field and re-enter the required password.

If you are unable to remember the required password, you can use the Merchant or Administrator password, depending on which password you can't remember. Refer to [*Understanding Password Hierarchy*](https://documentation.payfacto.com/SecurePayment/SecureTable/UG/CA-EN/SecurePay-Table/Configuration/Application_Configuration/Passwords/Understanding_Password_Hierarchy.htm) or [*Forgotten Passwords*](https://documentation.payfacto.com/SecurePayment/SecureTable/UG/CA-EN/SecurePay-Table/Configuration/Application_Configuration/Passwords/Forgotten_Passwords.htm) for more information on which passwords can "override" others.
