The tools provided in the Database module should be used with caution. Some of these tools allows the user to modify Maitre'D proprietary database files, which can result in permanent and irreversible loss of data.
Tools that allow modification of files should only be used by trained Maitre'D Support Specialists.
The Database option from the Maitre'D Desktop allows you basically to perform modifications to the live databases of your Maitre'D system.
Warning: This option should only be used under the direction of a PayFacto software support specialist. Improper use may cause severe damage to your system.
In order to access this module, click on the Database icon on the screen of the Back-Office or of the module you are in.
After selecting the Database option, the Database Module displays:
This option is used to view a file structure and its contents. Upon selection, a dialog box opens.
File Number
Use this drop down menu to select which file to view.
Directory
Use this drop down menu to select the location of the file.
This option will give you summary information on the file.
This option will give you the contents of the file.
This option corrects the structure of a database file in the current directory. It is used to convert files when the software version is updated.
File Number:
Type in the number of the file you wish to update and then click on OK.
This option is used to create new files upon selection without deleting all records.

Destination
Enter the destination file number.
Records
Number of Records
Enter the number of records you want to create.
This option allows to view the error log of your Maitre'D system.
Identification
Listing
This information refers to the line in the Maitre'D source program.
Step
This information refers to the step number in the Maitre'D source program.
Event
This is a sequential number to identify the error message.
Information
Date
The date when the error occurred.
Time
The time when the error occurred.
Access Level
The access level in use when the error occurred.
Terminal number
The terminal number from where the error occurred.
Messages
Error
A description of the error.
Database
The database from which the error occurred.
OS Error:
Error message reported by the operating system.
(For Example: Too many open files, not enough memory…)
To go to the first record of the error log.
To go to the previous record of the error log.
To go to the next record of the error log.
To go to the last record of the error log.
The Log option allows to start and view operations traces on the Database Module.
Log Level:
Three different Log level are available, Standard, Detail and Debug. This option is for trouble shooting purpose and should be use only with the supervision of your Maitre'D reseller.
Use the View key to access to log file.
This option allows to choose whether to display or not display the toolbar (all the icons at the top of your screens). This selection toggles from enable and disable. When there is a check mark beside the option, the option is enabled and you will see the toolbar.
This option allows to choose whether to display or not display the status bar (the line located at the bottom of your screen) or not. This selection toggles from enable and disable. When there is a check mark beside the option, the option is enabled and you will see the status bar.
This option checks all database files to make sure no files are missing or in the wrong format.

Allow to choose to pint the last record or all records in the Error Log.

Print Last Record:
Enable this option to print only the last error log in the error log.
Print All Records:
Enable this option to print all errors log in the error log.
This function fixes the inventory items stock file if it becomes corrupted after a faulty broadcast. When you select this function, the file will be rebuilt.
